Day 1: Arrive in Uttarakhand

On day 1, we will depart for Haridwar, which is a 2-4 hour drive via the new and old routes. Later, you will also visit temples, ghats, and attend the evening Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri. Your night stay today will be in Haridwar.

Day 2: Haridwar to Sonprayag

Haridwar to Sonprayag is a 235 km drive, taking approximately 7-8 hours. Upon reaching Sonprayag, you will rest for the night here as on day 3, you will begin your Kedarnath Dham Yatra.

Day 3: Sonprayag to Kedarnath

First, you will reach Gaurikund, which is 5 km away from Sonprayag, and this distance can only be covered by a local Mahindra Bolero taxi (no other cars are allowed on this route).

Then, from Gaurikund, you will start your 18 km long walk, which can also be covered in 3-4 hours by horse or palki. Upon reaching the Kedarnath Dham, either plan the darshan for today or for tomorrow morning as the temple timings are from 4 am to 7 pm.

Day 4: Kedarnath Darshan

Have the morning darshan of Kedarnath Dham Temple. Start to try to leave by noon or after lunch. After returning to Sonprayag, we will depart for Guptkashi for an overnight stay, which is a 30 km/1-hour drive.

Day 5: Guptkashi to Delhi

Guptkashi to Delhi is a 445 km or 10-11 hour drive, and by late evening or night, you will be back in Delhi.

There are three helipads from where you can get one-way and return trip helicopter service for Kedarnath Dham. These are:

Horse and Palki can only be booked at Sonprayag and Gaurikund. The current rates are:

• Rs 1500-2500 for horse, one side
• Rs 3000-5000 for Palki, one side
