Char Dham Yatra Route Map for 2024

Below is a 10 days itinerary or tour plan, which shared details on cities you will visit and n which day you will visit all 4 Dham.

We first suggest you to reach Haridwar and rest for the day or checkout our Haridwar Sightseeing package and visit all the temples & ghats of Haridwar & Rishikesh, or reach by morning and leave for Barkot, which will the 1st city where you will stay on your 10 days 9 nights Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar.

Day 1: Haridwar to Yamonotri Dham
Arrive at BARKOT or Hanuman Chatti, rest for the day as tomorrow you will go for a 5 km trek to get the darshan of Yamunotri Dham.

Day 2: Yamunotri Dham Temple visit
Our bus will drop you to JANKI CHHATI which is the starting trek point of Yamunotri Dham.

You can walk (2-3 hours), take a horse or Palki and after the darshan be back at the starting point where we will be waiting for you and the drop you at the hotel for dinner & rest.

Day 3: Yamunotri to Uttarkashi
Today we will leave for Uttarkashi and there we will first the famous Vishwanath Temple and later spend the whole day in Uttarkashi.

Day 4: Gangotri Dham Temple visit
By morning our bus will leave for Gangotri, where the Gangotri Dham temple is and no trekking is required here as the bus can park not too far from the main temple.

By night or late evening we will come back to Uttarkashi.

Day 5: Uttarkashi to Kedarnath
By morning our bus will now leave for Kedarnath Dham Yatra for which we will first reach Guptkashi, or Sitapur.

Today you will rest fo the day and as by tomorrow you will start your 2 days Kedarnath Dham Yatra.

Day 6: Kedarnath Dham Yatra day 1
Today our bus will drop you at Sonprayag which is a busy town and from here you first need to take a local cab to reach Gaurikund, 5 km drive.

Its a rule that only local cabs can drop you to Gaurikund.

Then you will start your Kedarnath Dham Yatra day 1 and reach the main temple by evening, an 19 km long trek that can be complete with Horse & Palki too.

Your night stay will be near Kedarnath Temple in a dharmshala or camp.

Day 7: Kedarnath Dham Yatra day 2
If yesterday you didn’t had the temple darshan the plan it today before noon and you need to come back to Gaurikund by late evening.

Then we will drop you at your hotel and you can rest for the day.

Day 8: Kedarnath to Pipalkoti/ Joshimath
Today we will leave for Badrinath Dham Yatra where we will first reach Pipalkoti/ Joshimath and rest for the day.

Day 9: Badrinath Dham Temple visit
By morning we will eave for Badrinath Dham and bus can park near temple, so not too much walking here.

After the Temple visit we will come back to the hotel & rest for the day.

Day 10: Back to Haridwar
Come back to Haridwar and with this tour 10 days Char Dham Yatra with our bus will be completed.

1. Which is the best month to plan a Char Dham yatra tour & how many days should I plan for a Yatra?

Month of April, May & June are rated as as the perfect months to plan a Char Dham Yatra, as weather is very good, especially for senior citizens, and there aren’t many railny days in these months.

Minimum time for a Char Dham Yatra is 9 days/ 8 nights where you will visit Yamunotri Dham on day 2, Gangotri Dham on day 4, Kedarnath Dham on Day 6 & Badrinath Dham on day 8 and come back to Haridwar on day 9, by night.
