Complete Itinerary of
Char Dham Yatra Itinerary from Mumbai
Day 1: Arrival from Mumbai
As suggested above, minimum days for Char Dham Yatra is 12 days with arrival departure from Dehradun, or Delhi/ Haridwar.
So arrive in Delhi on day 1, and then 3 hour drive to Haridwar via new expressway and night stay in Haridwar.
Day 2: Leave for Barkot
By morning, leave for Barkot which is 185 km/ 5 hour drive from Haridwar. Here after arrival, you will rest at the hotel, as tomorrow you will start your First Dham Yamunotri Dham Yatra.
Day 3: Yamunotri Dham visit
Early morning, the driver will pick you from your hotel & drop you at Janki Chatti, starting point of Yamunotri Dham Yatra. Its a 5 km trek till the temple & you will cover it in 5 hours.
The Yamunotri Dham Temple is dedicated to Mother Yamuna, and after the darshan, come back to Janki Chatti in 3 hour easily, and later driver will pick you up & drop at Barkot hotel for night stay.
Day 4: Leave for Uttarkashi
Checkout from your Barkot hotel & leave for Uttarkashi, a 80 km drive that takes 2-3 hour. Upon arriving, check=in at the hotel and later visit the famous “Vishwanath Temple “. Night stay in Uttarkashi.
Day 5: Gangotri Dham Yatra
In morning, we will leave for Gangotri, which is 3 hour drive from Uttarkashi and here you will just walk 500 meter from car parking & reach Gangotri Dham Temple.
The temple is dedicated to Mother Ganga, and after the darshan, you will come back to your Uttarkashi hotel & rest for the night.
Day 6: Leave for Sonprayag
In morning, leave for Sonprayag, or Guptkashi/ Sitapur, which are 225 & 200 km from Uttarkashi. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel & rest for the night.
Day 7: Kedarnath Dham Yatra (day 1)
By early morning, start the Yatra of Kedarnath which start from Sonprayag, last point for taxi, bus. Here your Yatra registration will be checked, and then you will first take a shared bolero taxi till Gaurikund which is a 5 km drive, and then 18 km long trek till Kedarnath Dham.
Try to reach the Dham before night & rest at the booked Dharamshala. You can either walk for 18 km, take gorse, palki or 20 mins helicopter ride (limited seats).
Day 8: Kedarnath Dham Yatra (day 2)
In morning, at around 4 am, plan the morning darshan of Kedarnath Dham, and by noon start the return trek to Gaurikund, the drive back to Sonprayag and then we will pick you op & drop at the hotel for night stay.
Day 9: Guptkashi to Badrinath
By morning leave for Badrinath, which is 220 km/ 7 hour drive. Upon reaching here, check-in at the hotel & rest for the night.
Day 10: Badrinath Dham Yatra
In morning, have the darshan of Badrinath Dham, and with this your Char Dham Yatra will be completed. Later you can visit some nearby places like Mana Village (last village of the Indo-Tibetan border), and rest fir the night at Badrinath.
Similarly you can also leave for Rudraprayag which is 150 km/ 5 hour drive & the plan night stay at Rudraprayag. By opting for this, you will reduce your traveling time of 12 hours to 7 hours, tomorrow.
Day 11: Come back to Haridwar/ Dehradun
Leave for Haridwar, or Delhi, from Badrinath or Rudraprayag, and night stay in any of these cities.
Day 12: Return to Mumbai
So today you can catch the flight/ train back to Mumbai from Delhi, which is just 3 hour drive via new expressway.
