This is our 10 days Rajasthan tour itinerary where you will explore all major tourist cities like Jaipur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Nathdwara, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Sam Desert, Bikaner, and then plan departure from Delhi or Jaipur. And you can also extend this tour to 12-13 days and visit, Ranthambore, Ajmer/ Pushkar and Agra.

10 days/ 9 nights Rajasthan tour plan

  • Best city to start Rajasthan tour?

Delhi, and Jaipur, as you can get a direct flight from Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bangalore etc. directly to Jaipur & Delhi, and also good train options. Thus we suggest to start Rajasthan tour from Jaipur, or Delhi.

DAY 1: Your arrival in Jaipur, Rajasthan

So when you book your train/ flight for Jaipur arrival, the best time would be from 6 am to 12 noon, as by then you can rest for 1-2 hour and still explore some amazing places in Jaipur like:

Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Shri Govind Dev ji Temple, Jantar Mantar, Birla temple, and if you are not tired then also visit Chokhi Dhani tourist village after 7 pm.

You can visit all these places from 2-3 pm to 9-11 pm, and then rest for the night in your booked hotel in Jaipur.

DAY 2: A whole full day in Jaipur to enjoy

So now you have explored, what we call the PINK CITY PART of Jaipur on day 1, and now on day 2, you will visit the AMER region of Jaipur. You will start your Jaipur sightseeing tour with trip to:

AMBER FORT & PALACE, which is still the number 1 tourist place as per daily numbers, and you should give a minimum of 1-2 hour for this massive fort.

Plus you can also enjoy a ELEPHANT RIDE from gate 1 till the 1st courtyard area, from where you can buy your entry tickets.

Then inside the Fort, you will see many palaces, especially SHEESH MAHAL, which is a palace completely made of glass.

Then after spending 2 hours at Amber Fort, you will leave for JAL MAHAL (a palace inside the Man Sagar Lake), JAIGARH FORT (a military fort & has India’s biggest cannon), NAHARGARH FORT & its Wax Museum (which also has a beautiful replica of Sheesh Mahal), and GATORE KI CHHATRIYAN, the resting place of Jaipur royal family and has very beautiful architecture (awesome place for serious photographers).

You will easily visit these places till 5 pm, and then you can either explore markets of Amer & Pink city or visit a few more tourist sites like ALBERT HALL MUSEUM which has an original Egyptian Mummy, SISODIA RANI BAGH, GALTA MONEY TEMPLE etc. And by night rest at your Jaipur hotel.

If can’t reach Jaipur by morning or noon on day 1, or you are arriving from Delhi to Jaipur via road (5 hour drive), then reach a day before, rest for the day and start your tour from next day. Checkout our Rajasthan tour packages from Pune, as guests from Pune prefer their arrival from Delhi.

DAY 3: Goodbye Jaipur, & explore Chittorgarh

After exploring Jaipur for 2 days, you will leave for Udaipur, which is a 7 hour drive, but you will reach in 10 hours, as you will be visiting the famous & UNESCO world heritage site of CHITTOR FORT in Chittorgarh (300 km from Jaipur & 100 km before Udaipur).

So if you leave from Jaipur by 9-10 am, you will reach Chittorgarh by 1-2 pm, and after lunch explore the Chittor Fort, which will take 1-2 hour.

We suggest to hire a local guide from the ticket counter as there is so much to see & admire inside this huge castle, such as 19 temples, 20 artificial pounds (water bodies), palaces and Vijaya Stambha (a beautiful tower built after the victory on Mahmud Shah I Khalji in 15th century).

By evening, you will reach Udaipur and rest for the night.

DAY 4: A whole day in Udaipur

Udaipur, also know as the city of Lakes, is an amazing destination, also a favorite place for destination wedding. On day 4, you will be in Udaipur & exploring the city from morning to night, visiting amazing places like:

CITY PALACE, JAGDISH TEMPLE, SAHELIYON KI BARI, JAGMANDIR, BAGORE HAVLI, LAKE PALACE, LAKE PICHOLA BOAT RIDE, and if you are not tired then you can explore the local markets of Udaipur. Night stay in Udaipur.

Please note: The Lake Palace of Udaipur is a 5 star hotel and to explore it, some guests plan a night stay here or book a table at their restaurant.

DAY 5: Visit Shrinathji temple in Nathdwara & reach Jodhpur by night

So after exploring Udaipur, you will leave for Jodhpur which is a 4 hour drive and you will visit many on-route place here. Out of them the most famous one is Shrinathji temple in Nathdwara.

Shrinathji temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna, and followers from all over the globe visits this temple, even Indian prime ministers.

Along with Shrinathji temple, you will also visit Haldighati Museum, Ekling ji temple, Badi Lake and reach Jodhpur by late evening, and rest at your booked Johdpur hotel.

DAY 6: Explore Jodhpur today

Today on day 6, you have the more than 12 hours to explore Jodhpur and we will start with a trip to Mehrangarh Fort, which is the main attractions of Jodhpur city. This fort is maintained by the royal family of Jodhpur so be ready to see a huge castle which can be converted into a 7 star hotel any day.

Then after exploring Mehrangarh Fort, you will visit Jaswant Thada, which is just 5 minute drive from Fort, and this place is called as Taj Mahal of Jodhpur, as its made up of pure white stone, and cenotaphs here are simply stunning. This is a memorial of Jodhpur Monarchy from 13th century.

After your lunch, which we suggest to try Gypsy restaurant Thali, and later you will visit Umaid Bhawan Palace, which is 1/3rd museum and 2/3rd a Taj Heritage Luxury Hotel. In the museum you will also see a collection of vintage cars.

And in evening you can visit Mandore Garden, explore local markets of Jodhpur (very famous for wooden & brass work) at Clock Tower area, and rest for the night at your Jodhpur Hotel.

DAY 7: Leave for Jaisalmer & enjoy desert safari at Sam Sand Dunes

After your breakfast at the Hotel, we will leave for Jaisalmer, which is 275 km & 5 hour drive from Jodhpur. On-route we will also visit Jaisalmer War Museum, which was opened in 2015, and show you original facts about 1971 Indo-Pak war.

By 4 pm, we will reach Jaisalmer but instead of arriving in Jaisalmer city, we will reach Jaisalmer main desert area of Sam Sand Dunes. Sam is a region which is 45 km away from Jaisalmer city and is the number 1 desert destination of India.

Here you will find sand dunes that are 60 meter tall and this whole area is of 3-5 km. Here you will first check-in at booked desert camp, here after some rest you will enjoy Camel safari, Jeep safari, Paragliding, run quad bikes on dunes etc. Plus also visit Sam sunset point.

Later by 7 pm, when its dark, you will come back to the camp where a musical dance program is organized by some of the best dancers of local Jaisalmer desert villages. You will also enjoy a buffet dinner and rest for the night at booked desert camp.

DAY 8: Explore Jaisalmer city and a few sites in the desert

Today you will leave for Jaisalmer city after your breakfast at the camp, but before than we will take you to Amar Sagar Jain Temple, which is very beautiful place to visit in desert and Kuldhara Haunted Village which is said to be the most haunted place to visit in India.

Then by noon you will reach Jaisalmer City and explore Jaisalmer Sonar Quila (Jaisalmer Golden Fort). Here you will see Patwon ki Haveli, a 500 year old mansion and a stunning one, along with Nathmal ki Haveli, Salim Singh ki Haveli, Cannon point and you can also visit the markets of the fort.

The later by evening you will visit Gadisar Lake, Bada Bagh, Vyas Chhatri & also checkout the Bhang Shop of Jaisalmer, & NK Sharma Puppet show, and rest for the night at Jaisalmer city booked hotel.

DAY 9: Leave for Bikaner & visit a few sites today & some tomorrow.

Bikaner is 335 km drive from Jaisalmer city and it takes 5 hour minimum to reach here. We suggest to leave for Bikaner before 9 am and each by 2 pm, as then you can visit places like Junagarh Fort & Karni Mata Temple, Deshnok in Bikaner.

These 2 sites are the main attraction of Bikaner, and later by night you can explore the city markets or rest for the day at the booked Bikaner hotel.

DAY 10: Try Camel Milk ice cream and reach Jaipur by 4 pm.

Today after your breakfast you will checkout from the hotel and visit a few more attractions of Bikaner like Laxmi Niwas Palace, and the famous National Research Centre on Camel (ICAR). Here you will see camels, know more about them and also try camel milk and ice cream made by it.

Then after lunch we will leave for Jaipur which is 335 km & 5-6 hour drive, and with this our 10 days Rajasthan tour will be finished. You can either take the night train/ flight for home or rest in Jaipur for the night and plan departure next day (day 11).

Similarly, you can also plan your departure from Delhi where instead of leaving for Jaipur from Bikaner we will leave for Delhi which is 426 km drive and takes 8-9 hour time, and if you are planning a departure from Delhi then its best to stay for the night on day 10 and take the train/ flight on day 11.

This is our itinerary for Jaisalmer, where your arrival & departure will be from Jaisalmer, and an option to do so from Jodhpur too.

4 days/ 3 nights Jaisalmer Rajasthan tour itinerary, and to be planned from August to March only.

So we suggest August to March as summer in Jaisalmer is quite hot.

Jaisalmer in winters has become the number 1 tourist destination for serious travellers who wants to enjoy desert safari activities, luxury desert camping, and visit the only living fort city in India.

DAY 1: Welcome to Jaisalmer

Most of our guests arrive in Jaisalmer after lunch where half of the day in gone, so we suggest them to rest for an hour or two at the hotel, and plan an evening tour of places like:

Bada Bagh, Vyas Chhatri, and Gadiar Lake.

Here Bada Bagh is a garden, Vyas Chhatri is a beautiful cenotaphs area and Gadisar Lake is an major attraction of Jaisalmer, which is an 13th century made artificial lake where you can get a boat ride, see catfish, and visit temples at the ghats. Your night stay will be in Jaisalmer city hotel.

DAY 2: Half day for Sonar Quila & other half for Desert Safari & Camping

Sonar Quila, or the Golden Fort of Jaisalmer, where more than 30,000 people live inside this massive castle, is the only living fort in India. Very few of them exists in Europe and in India, you can see one only in Jaisalmer.

So cars are not allowed inside Jaisalmer Fort, so we suggest to get a guide who will take you to places like:

Nathmal ki Haveli, Salim Singh ki Haveli, and the most famous of all, Patwon li Haveli, is a 500 year old mansion which use to be a home of the richest businessmen in Jaisalmer Rajya.

Then after exploring the Jaisalmer Fort, and after your lunch, we will leave towards Sam Sand Dunes, which is a desert area with 30-60 meter tall sand dunes, and many camp resorts. On route we will also visit Amar Sagar Jain temple, a beautiful temple in the desert.

Upon reaching at Sam, we will first check-in at the booked desert camp, and after an hour rest will enjoy activities like:

Camel safari, Jeep safari, Camel cart safari, Paragliding, Quad biking, and more, Plus also checkout the Sam sunset point.

Then after 2-3 hour of enjoying Jaisalmer desert safari tours, you will return back to the camp, and attend the traditional dance & musical program with buffet dinner. Your night stay will be at the camp.

DAY 3: Day tour towards Indo-Pak border

Today we will checkout from the desert camp, and leave for Longewala which the 1971 Indo=Pak war was fought. First we will visit the famous Tanot Mata Temple, which has a story attached with the Indo-Pak war.

Just 15 km from the main battle ground, many bullets and rockets landed at the temple but surprisingly none of them exploded. And after winning the war, the Indian army went to get the blessings of Tanot Mata.

Later you will also visit the Longewala post and by night we will come back to Jaisalmer city and rest for the night at the hotel.

DAY 4: Explore the city & departure

Today you will checkout from the Jaisalmer hotel, and before we drop you at the Jaisalmer Airport/ Railway Station, you can explore the local markets, if you have time, and also visit the 2015 started Jaisalmer War Museum, Tazia tower.

This is our itinerary for Ranthambore National Park in Sawai Madhopur, and here arrival departure can be from Sawai Madhopur or Jaipur.

2 days/ 1 nights Ranthambore National Park Rajasthan tour itinerary.

Ranthambore National Part is the number 1 tiger reserve in India and the only place where you can find a tiger living inside an old fort, next to a lake. To plan a trip to Ranthambore, we suggest to either reach Sawai Madhopur Railway Station or Jaipur Airport & Railway Station which is 190 km and 3 our drive away.

DAY 1: Arrival at Ranthambore & enjoy Tiger safari tour

We suggest our guests to either arrive a night earlier & enjoy the morning tiger safari tour or arrive before noon and take the 2nd safari tour that starts by 2-3 pm.

The entry ticket of the park can be obtained online and we suggest to book it online, as offline tickets can some time may take quite some extra time.

You can either book a private jeep or take the open bus tiger safari tour, which is of 5-6 hours.

Your night stay will be in one of may amazing hotels, resorts and jungle camps near Ranthambore National Park.

DAY 2: Plan departure

Next day you can plan your departure for which we suggest from Jaipur, as on route you can visit places like Chand Baori Stepwell, Mehandipur Balaji temple, and Galta Monkey Temple.

Jaipur is 190 km and it takes around 3 hours to reach.
