Temples of Mathura and Vrindavan
1. Shri Krishna Janmasthan Temple
The Shri Krishna Janmasthan Temple is located in main Mathura city, just 3-4 km from Mathura Junction and is the birth place of Shri Krishan. The whole temple complex is divided into 4 temples, and these are:
- Garbha Griha: This is the prison cell where Shri Krishna was born.
- Keshav Deo Temple: This temple is dedicated to Krishna elder brother, Balram.
- Yogmaya Temple: The temple is dedicated to the elder sister of Krishna, who warded off Krishna’s uncle, Kansa, that his Kaal had already been born. Its believed that the Yogmaya is an incarnation of Goddess Druga.
- Bhagavata Bhavan: The temple work started in 1965 & completed in 1982, and its dedicated to Shrimad Bhagavata, and has 6 feel tall Krishan Radha statue, and various other incarnations of Shri Hari Vishnu, Mata Durga & many paintings.
Temple Timing: 5 am to 12:30 pm and 4 pm to 8:30 pm
2. Shree Dwarikadhish Temple
The Shree Dwarikadhish Temple is also located in Mathura, around 2 km from the Shri Krishna Janmasthan Temple, and on the banks of the Yamuna river, near the famous Vishram Ghat.
This temple is dedicated to Shree Krishna, as the Maharaja of Dwarka, which was the kingdom where Shree Krishna relocated his people from Mathura, and thus he and the temple are called Dwarkadish.
Along with Shree Krishna, you will also see the statue of Radha, and this temple was built in 1815 by the businessman Seth Gokuldas Parikh. So if you are in Mathura, first visit the Janmasthan Temple and then our Dwarkadhisha.
Temple Timing: 6:30 am to 11:00 am and 4 pm to 7:30 pm
3. Banke Bihari ji Temple
The Banke Bihari Temple, located in Vrindavan, is one of the most visited temples in both Mathura and Vrindavan. The statue of this temple is a combined form of Radha & Krishna.
The idol of the temple is believed to have such a powerful attraction that your eyes might never be satisfied, and most of our guests visit this temple more than once every year.
The history of the temple tells us about Swami Haridas, a Brahmin and musician, whose devotion led him to the darshan of both Radha and Krishna. As per his request, both Radha and Krishna merged, and an idol was formed which is today the main idol of the Banke Bihari Ji Temple.
Temple timings are 7:45 am to noon and then from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

4. Nidhivan
Nidhivan is a garden & temple located in Vrindavan. This place used to be a jungle area where Shri Krishna used to come and dance with Radha and other gopis.
Nidhivan’s history is also connected with the Banke Bihari temple. As the legend says, Sant Haridas, whose devotion gave us the beautiful view of Banke Bihari, saw Radha & Krishna at Nidhivan. The main idol of the Banke Bihari temple was in Nidhivan and later sent to the Banke Bihari Temple.
There is also a mystery about Nidhivan: no one is allowed to enter Nidhivan at night. Locals believe Radha & Krishna come here every night to dance, and if one is found checking on that, it may bring bad luck.

5. Shri Radha Madan Mohan Ji Temple
The Shri Radha Madan Mohan Ji Temple is located in Vrindavan and was built by the grandson of Shree Krishna, Raja Vajranabh.
The temple has the ideals of Radha, Madan Mohan (a form of Krishna) and Lalita Sakhi who was one of 8 main Sakhi of Radha & Krishna.
This temple is one of the oldest temple in Vrindavan, Sanatana Goswami who was a famous saint lived here and even his samadhi is next to the main temple promises.
Temple Timing: 7:00 am to 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm
6. Sri Rangnath Ji Temple
The Rangnath Ji Temple is located in Vrindavan and is devoted to Shree Sri Rangnath Ji, who is a form of Shri Hari Vishnu.
According to locals, the temple was built almost 1000 years ago by Vishnu followers from southern India, especially Ramanuja Acharya.
It is believed that Ramanuja Acharya laid the foundation of this temple around 1050 AD, and later, many kings, local businessmen, and Vishnu followers from the south redeveloped this temple.
Temple Timing: 7:00 am to 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
7. Govind Dev Ji Temple
The Govind Dev Ji Temple in Vrindavan is devoted to Shri Krishna, in the form of Govind Dev Ji, primarily worshipped in Rajasthan.
The temple’s construction is attributed to Jaipur/Amer Maharaja Man Singh in the 16th century. This is evident as the temple is built using red stone sourced from Rajasthan.
Ironically, the temple was constructed during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar, but its four stories were later demolished during the time of Akbar’s great-grandson, Aurangzeb.
At that time, the main idol of the temple was taken back to Jaipur, where it now resides in the Govind Dev Ji Temple within the City Palace Jaipur.

8. Shri Radhavallabh Lal Ji Temple
The Radhavallabh Lal Ji Temple is located in Vrindavan and is a 500 year old temple which belongs to Radhavallabh Sampradaya.
The ideol of the temple is a roop of Shree Krishna love for Radha, a divine & pure love between Radha and Krishna.
The tenple management is also know for their community service like free kitchen, education to poor etc, and thus its a must visit temple in our Mathura Vrindavan itinerary.
