Khatu Shyam Tour planning:
The temple of Khatu Shyam Ji is in Khatoo village (more like a town now), near Reengus city. From Reengus city, the temple is approximately a 23 km drive, which many travellers also cover on foot.
1. Arrival at Khatu Shyam Ji Temple:
The best option is to arrive in Jaipur, Rajasthan from your hometown, as the temple is an 85–90 km drive from Jaipur. So on day 1, arrive in Jaipur, then take a 2-hour drive to Khatu Shyam Ji Temple. Parking is available around 500 meters from the temple.
2. Temples to visit in Khatoo
First plan the darshan of Khatu Shyam Ji Temple, which will normally take 1 hour on a low-crowd day or 4–5 hours on a crowded day. Plus you will also visit Shyam Kund, Shyam Bageecha, Gaurishankar Temple, and then Jeen Mata Temple which is a 30 km drive from Khatu Shyam Ji Temple.
End of day 1
You can either return to Jaipur or leave for Salasar for a night stay, as on day 2 you will visit Salasar Balaji Temple. Salasar is 100 km away and around a 2-hour drive.
3. Visit Salasar Balaji Temple
After 1 night’s rest in Salasar town, you will visit Salasar Balaji Temple, preferably in the morning to avoid crowded hours. Other temples which you can visit near Salasar Balaji Temple are Anjani Mata Temple, Shani Dev Temple, and Shiv Mandir, and you can also visit the local market.
If you have visited Salasar Balaji Temple and the other temples in Salasar before lunch, then leave for Shree Rani Satiji Mandir, which is about 109 km and around a 1 hour 45 minute drive away. After having the darshan of Shree Rani Sati Dadi Temple, you can either plan the night drive to Jaipur, which is about 180 km and a 3–4 hour drive, or stay 1 night at a hotel near Shree Rani Satiji Mandir in Jhunjhunu city.

1. Khatu Shyam Ji Temple
Khatu Shyam Ji Temple is located in Khatoo village in the Sikar district of Rajasthan. It is around an 85–90 km drive from Jaipur and around 260–270 km from Delhi, which makes it a popular weekend pilgrimage destination for devotees from North India.
The temple is dedicated to Khatu Shyam Ji, who is believed to be Barbarika, the grandson of Bhima from the Mahabharata. The temple was built in 1720 AD by Diwan Abhaisingh under the rule of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II.
The Khatu Shyam Ji Temple opens around 4:30 AM with the Mangala Aarti, and the temple remains open until 10 PM, with a short closing in the afternoon depending on the season and crowd.
The temple remains most crowded during the Phalgun Mela (February–March), Ekadashi days, weekends, and major Hindu festivals when lakhs of devotees visit Khatu for Baba Shyam darshan.
2. Salasar Balaji Temple
Salasar Balaji Temple is located in Salasar town of Churu district in Rajasthan. It is around 170 km drive from Jaipur and around 310 km from Delhi, making it one of the most visited Hanuman temples in North India.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman (Salasar Balaji). The idol of Balaji here is unique as Hanuman Ji is seen with a moustache and beard. The temple was established in 1754 AD by Mohan Das Ji Maharaj, a devotee of Balaji.
The Salasar Balaji Temple opens around 4 am with Mangala Aarti, and the temple remains open till around 10 pm, with short breaks in the afternoon depending on the season & crowd.
The temple remains most crowded during the Chaitra Purnima and Ashwin Purnima Melas, Tuesdays and Saturdays, and major Hindu festivals when lakhs of devotees visit Salasar for Balaji darshan.
3. Shree Rani Sati Dadi Temple
Shree Rani Sati Dadi Temple is located in Jhunjhunu city, Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, which is 180 km drive from Jaipur & 250–260 km from Delhi, & a historic temple of Goddess Durga.
The temple is dedicated to Rani Sati Dadi, who is believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga & the current temple was developed & later expanded during the 19th & 20th century by the Marwari community.
The Shree Rani Sati Dadi Temple usually opens around 5 am in the morning, & remains open till around 9-10 pm, with short breaks in the afternoon depending on the season.
The temple remains most crowded during the Bhadrapada Amavasya festival, which is the main annual fair here, along with weekends and special religious occasions when thousands of devotees visit Jhunjhunu for Dadi Ji darshan.
