Day 1, Arrival in Jaipur

By morning, you will arrive in Jaipur and our driver will pick you up from Jaipur Airport, Railway Station or Bus Stop (Sindhi Camp). First, you will check in at your booked hotel, rest for an hour or two, and from noon to night, you will visit:

• Pink City Sites of Jaipur

The Pink City is one of the oldest parts of Jaipur where the Maharaja of Jaipur lived, and even today the ancestors have converted their palace into museums. So in Pink City, you will visit:

1. Hawa Mahal: Also known as the Palace of Winds, and from where the queens watched city life.
2. City Palace: The royal palace, residence of the Jaipur Maharaja and now a museum with private rooms.
3. Jantar Mantar: Historic astronomical observatory with giant instruments built by Raja Man Singh.
4. Govind Dev Ji Temple: Centuries-old famous temple of Shree Krishna.
5. Markets of Pink City: Shop at Bapu Bazar, Johari Bazar and Khanjane Walon Ka Rasta.

After this, we will leave for Chokhi Dhani, situated near Jaipur Airport and is famous as the best Night tour activity of Jaipur. In Chokhi Dhani, you will enjoy:

1. Jal Mahal: A 5 story palace in the middle of Man Sagar Lake, with 2 stories under water.
2. Amber Fort: A massive hill fort, where you can get 1 km elephant ride till main gate.
3. Panna Meena ka Kund: A beautiful stepwell behind Amber Fort.
4. Royal Gaitor: A cenotaphs site, created as for Jaipur’s royal family.
5. Jaigarh Fort: An anther hill fort, which has one of the biggest cannon “Jaivana Cannon” in the world.
6. Nahargarh Fort: Anther hilltop, 3rd, fort, which also has a Wax Museum.
7. Galta Monkey Temple: A popular hill temple, famous for monkeys.
8. Khole Ke Hanuman Ji Temple: A popular hanuman temple of Jaipur.
9. Sisodia Rani Bagh: A beautiful royal garden in Jaipur.

Question 1: I am planning a two-day trip to Jaipur. Which all sites can I easily visit in two days?

Answer: As suggested above in our two day Jaipur sightseeing itinerary, you can easily explore three major parts of Jaipur. First being the Amer side, which is famous for Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, Jaigarh Fort, and Nahargarh Fort.

Second is the Pink City part of Jaipur, which is famous for City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, and the Pink City markets.

And third is the Jaipur City sites. By Jaipur City, we mean the newer part of the city, which has been developed over the last hundred years. Here, you can visit Albert Hall Museum, Birla Temple, Moti Dungri Temple, Patrika Gate, and Chokhi Dhani.

Question 2: What would be the minimum fare for a group of two for a two-day Jaipur sightseeing package?

Answer: The minimum fare for two days of Jaipur sightseeing for two people would be to hire our sedan car with a driver, which charges Rs. 1,600 per day, or Rs. 3,200 for two days. Apart from that, you can book a hotel in Jaipur starting from Rs. 1,000 up to Rs. 20,000 per night, depending on your room category.

So, let’s say you book a two-day taxi for around Rs. 3,200 and a nice deluxe hotel in Jaipur for around Rs. 2,000 per night with breakfast. Your total cost would come to around Rs. 5,500 for two persons.

Question 3: Are all these Jaipur tourist attractions open every day?

Answer: Yes, all the major attractions of Jaipur are generally open 365 days a year. They may only be closed temporarily if renovation or maintenance work is being carried out, which usually happens once every 5 to 10 years.

Question 4: Is two days enough to explore Jaipur, and what nearby places can I plan to visit?

Answer: You can actually explore Jaipur and one nearby destination in a minimum of two days, although we would suggest spending three days in Jaipur and its nearby areas. But if you only have two days, you can plan your trip like this:

On Day 1, enjoy a full day of Jaipur sightseeing. We would suggest visiting Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, Jaigarh Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Albert Hall Museum, Birla Mandir, and Chokhi Dhani, followed by an overnight stay at your hotel.

On Day 2, you can plan a trip to Ajmer and Pushkar, which are approximately 125 km from Jaipur.

Apart from Ajmer and Pushkar, some people also visit Khatu Shyam Ji and Salasar Balaji Temple, or plan a trip covering Agra, Mathura, and Vrindavan. However, Ajmer and Pushkar are considered the closest and most popular nearby destinations to explore from Jaipur.

Question 5: Which is the best month to plan a trip to Jaipur?

Answer: Jaipur is a 12-month destination, but the months from August to March are generally considered the main tourist season here. The summer months, especially May and June, are very hot in Jaipur. However, even during these months, Jaipur receives tourists because of school and children’s holidays.

That is why we consider Jaipur a 12-month destination. However, the finest weather you will experience in Jaipur is during the winter months.

Question 6: How many days can I visit Jaipur along with Agra and Delhi?

Answer: A trip covering Jaipur, Agra, and Delhi is known as the Golden Triangle Tour. We would suggest spending two nights in Jaipur, one night in Agra, and one night in Delhi, making it a total of five days and four nights.

For this tour, a sedan taxi will cost around Rs. 12,500. You should also consider around Rs. 500 per day, or Rs. 2,500 in total, as the driver’s allowance. You should also budget around Rs. 2,500–3,000 for toll tax, parking, and state taxes.

For hotels, you can consider around Rs. 2,000 per night. So, your hotel cost would be approximately Rs. 8,000, while the cab-related charges would be around Rs. 18,500. This makes your total estimated cost around Rs. 25,000 for the complete Golden Triangle Tour.

Question 7: Is Jaipur a senior citizen-friendly destination?

Answer: Yes, Jaipur is quite a senior citizen-friendly destination. At many places in Jaipur, you can easily get wheelchair access, and some popular attractions also have facilities such as lifts. For example, City Palace also has lift facilities.

So, I would not say that senior citizens cannot visit and explore the major attractions of Jaipur. They can comfortably visit places such as Jal Mahal, Birla Temple, Chokhi Dhani, and City Palace.

However, they may have to consider skipping or limiting their visit to places such as Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, and Amer Fort, as these are hill forts and have different levels and stairways inside.

Still, many senior citizens, including people above 80 years of age, are able to explore Jaipur with proper planning, especially with the wheelchair-accessibility facilities that have been developed at several tourist attractions.
