The Birla Temple in Jaipur, also known as the Lakshmi Narayan Temple, was built in 1988 by the Birla family through the B.M. Birla Foundation.

The temple is located in central Jaipur, at the base of the Moti Dungri Hill, and dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Narayan) & Goddess Lakshmi.

The Maharaja of Jaipur donated the land for the Birla Temple for just one rupee.

Constructed entirely from white marble, the temple stands as a modern architectural marvel while retaining traditional spiritual significance.

Over time, it has become not only a place of worship but also a popular tourist attraction in Jaipur, visited by 1000s of people every day.

The Birla Temple of Jaipur is an beautiful temple, crafted entirely from white marble which was brought from Makrana, Rajasthan.

The temple has three domes, designed to symbolize the harmony and unity of India’s major religions, reflecting the spirit of secularism.

The main hall of the temple has the idols of Goddess Lakshmi & Lord Vishnu, along with many glass paintings on the temple main hall windows and they show scenes from Hindu scriptures & idols of other Hindi Gods.

Birla Temple opens for visitors early in the morning and again in the evening after a midday closure.

The temple is open from 6 AM to Noon, and then closes for a few hours, and reopens from 3 PM until 9 PM.

Birla Temple is located just below Moti Dungri Hill, next to Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple. From the Pink City area, the Birla Temple is just a 2–3 km drive, and it’s also close to Jaipur Gandhi Nagar Railway Station, and around a 20-minute drive from Jaipur Airport.

Entry to Birla Temple is free of cost, but visitors are advised to dress modestly and respectfully in keeping with the temple’s sanctity.

9. BEST TIME TO VISIT

The best time to visit Birla Temple is during the winter months from October to March, when Jaipur’s weather is cool and comfortable for local sightseeing.
